Cancellation & Refund Policy
Effective September 2, 2026
Traveler-initiated cancellations
If you cancel a booking, the amount refundable, if any, depends on the rules attached to the airline ticket, hotel rate, vacation package, cruise, tour or other travel product purchased.
Some bookings may be fully refundable, partially refundable, refundable only before a deadline, eligible only for supplier credit, subject to cancellation penalties or completely non-refundable. Promotional, discounted, basic-economy, prepaid, advance-purchase and specially negotiated rates often carry greater restrictions.
No general 24-hour cancellation guarantee
Do not assume every booking arranged through Mikes Vacations carries a free 24-hour cancellation period. Certain U.S. airline rules requiring airlines to provide a 24-hour cancellation or hold option do not automatically extend to tickets purchased through a travel agency or other third-party agent. Where a supplier, fare, booking system or Mikes Vacations expressly provides a 24-hour benefit for a reservation, it applies according to its stated conditions.
Changes requested by the traveler
Changes are subject to availability and supplier rules and may result in supplier change/cancellation penalties, fare or rate differences, lost promotional pricing, taxes, fees, rebooking costs and any separately disclosed Mikes Vacations service fee.
Supplier cancellations, schedule changes and disruptions
Airlines and other travel suppliers may change or cancel schedules, routes, equipment, hotels, rooms, tours or other services. Mikes Vacations will make reasonable efforts to assist with available alternatives. Rebooking, credits, compensation and refunds are governed by applicable law, the merchant of record, the responsible supplier and reservation terms.
Airline refund rights
Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable rights under applicable aviation consumer-protection laws. For qualifying flights to, from or within the United States, passengers may have a legal right to a refund when an airline cancels or significantly changes a flight and the passenger does not accept alternative transportation or another substitute offered.
Responsibility for processing an eligible airfare refund can depend on the merchant of record. When Mikes Vacations is legally responsible as merchant of record for an eligible airline-ticket refund, Mikes Vacations will process the refund in accordance with applicable law. When an airline, wholesaler or other supplier is merchant of record, the traveler may need to obtain the refund through that entity, although Mikes Vacations will reasonably assist with the request.
Refund processing
When Mikes Vacations receives supplier funds that are specifically refundable to a traveler, we will process or remit the applicable refund as reasonably promptly as possible. Processing times can vary where a refund must first be authorized, calculated or returned by a supplier. Where law establishes a mandatory refund deadline for Mikes Vacations as merchant of record, that legal deadline applies.
Refunds are ordinarily returned to the original form of payment unless another method is required or permitted. Supplier-imposed non-refundable amounts, cancellation penalties and previously disclosed non-refundable Mikes Vacations professional fees may be deducted where legally permitted.
No-shows and unused travel
Failure to arrive for a flight, hotel, cruise, tour, transfer or other booked service may be treated as a no-show. No-show reservations are frequently non-refundable and may result in cancellation of remaining itinerary segments. Unused portions of a trip are not automatically refundable.
Service fees
Mikes Vacations may charge planning, booking, change, cancellation or other agency fees only when disclosed before the traveler becomes obligated to pay them. Supplier penalties and agency fees are separate. A fee identified in advance as non-refundable remains non-refundable except where law requires otherwise.
How to request a cancellation or refund
